Make your goals PUBLIC

TRUTH - many people don't share their intentions to start a weight loss or fitness program because they're too scared to fail.

TRUTH - they keep this goal to themselves and as such, they have little reason, aside from an internal desire, which unless firmly rooted and attached to an emotional why, tends to diminish exponentially over time, to stay committed to it for any length of time.

TRUTH - many people set goals that lack a timeline.....thus making them a wishy washy wish and not actually a goal that they're setting out to achieve.

TRUTH - those who make their goals public......are the ones who tend to stick to them.  They have a greater priority for their goals because they've made them public so, giving up, would mean a greater sense of shame or guilt in having "failed" the identified goal.

TRUTH - the biggest mistake people who are SERIOUS about making changes and setting goals in their lives make, is NOT sharing their goals.  SHARE THEM - go public - THAT is accountability at its finest.

I've been there too - "i'm so scared to fail, so if i just don't tell anyone, and I fail, then no one knows but me"....but what's wrong with this picture.......you're continuously failing yourself that way.....cause you're not using something OTHER than yourself to hold yourself accountable.  When I started SHARING my goals and KNEW that someone was watching and/or waiting for me to fail......I started seeing my results.

Now this doesn't happen for everyone, but it's fairly common and something that I come across A LOT in my day to day chats with clients and coaches!  When you PUT YOUR GOALS OUT THERE and REALLY IDENTIFY STEPS THAT YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE TO MAKE THEM HAPPEN ......that's when SHIT GETS REAL!!!!!

MAKE THEM PUBLIC people.  No more hiding!  Take your accountability to the next level and MAKE YOUR GOALS HAPPEN!

STOP giving up

Remember THAT time that you came to me, you messaged me and told me that you wanted to make a change in your life.  That time that you admitted that you needed and wanted to change and you opened up about your struggles and your "rock bottom" (some of you havent shared this with me, but many of you have).  Remember how committed you were in the beginning....how driven you were to create change.....how great it felt when you started noticing the benefits....mentally and physically?????

For many.....this drive disappeared.......the workouts fizzled out.....the nutrition fell back into old habits......and now, you find yourself saying...."why did I stop"......."if I had only kept going I wouldn't be back where I am now"....."i wonder where I'd be if i kept going" or "im even farther away from my goal than I was then".....

I'm here to remind you that YOU MATTER and that YOURE WORTH IT.  STOP QUITTING DAMMIT.........if you STICK WITH ME.....every single day - legitimately, IVE NEVER QUIT SINCE I STARTED.......1-2 rest days a week, 30 mins a day.......choose 80% healthy food......but SHOW UP HERE EVERY DAY......post EVERY DAY........MAKE THIS YOUR LIFESTYLE............you WILL be farther ahead if you STOP QUITTING......STOP GIVING UP........yes, its not always easy, but dammit, if it was, everyone would be doing it.......but YOU, YOU are here cause you WANT TO CHANGE.....so get up TODAY, and DO SOMETHING........get your head in the game, friend.  You know what you want......so set the goals and MAKE THEM HAPPEN THIS TIME.  STICK WITH ME........

You CAN do it.

Break down the walls

I'm a perpetual wall builder......you know, the kind of person who thinks "hey, I can totally do that" but shortly thereafter thinks of a gazillion reasons WHY I CAN'T or HOW ILL FAIL.  I create the scenarios, every single one, that could POTENTIALLY go wrong or create a setback, which takes that original idea and slowly but steadily BURIES it and takes all the wind out of my sails.

IS THIS YOU???

Are you someone who constantly undermines what you're capable of?  Do you second guess yourself?  Do you doubt your full potential?  I don't know WHY I've always done this.....I know it drove my parents CRAZY and now my husband.  I mean, it's ONE thing for others to believe in US but what about US believing in OURSELVES???????

The truth is that, over the last two years, I've believed more in myself than I ever have before, but I still have ups and downs.  I STILL undermine my abilities.  I STILL second guess my decisions.  I STILL don't give it my all because I'm totally paralyzing myself by this thinking pattern.

Today I challenge YOU......to BELIEVE in yourself and TRULY SEE what others see in YOU.  YOU are the only thing standing between yourself and what it is that you want to do.  BELIEVE in who you ARE and not in what you're NOT.  This will set you FREE.

<3 much love

Weigh-aholics

SO many of you, like me, at one point, focused on THE DREADED SCALE. I like to refer to US as weigh-aholics or recovering scale addicts. My friend's recent post got me thinking that THIS is something that needs to be discussed RIGHT NOW.

Here are a few tips on WHEN to avoid the scale:

1- MOST DAYS: weighing yourself EVERYDAY is unnecessary and completely unhealthy! Your weight is going to fluctuate every day based on what you ate (salt, food etc.) and based on your activity (exercise or not) as well as other things like hormones and sleep. This tends to lead to obsessive thinking and behaviour. Try to aim for ONE time a week.

2. When you're at someone else's house. It's best to weigh yourself on the same scale at the same time of day (best time is morning :))

3. When the scales literally cost you $10........there's no guarantee that the thing is even calibrated

4. When its 8pm and you've eaten your body weight in food for the day lol

5. When you're wearing heavy articles of clothing or shoes - ditch them, do it naked

6. After you've just done a crazy intense workout - your muscles are FULL of blood and you've also just shed a TON of water in sweat! Just not accurate.

7. When the scale is NOT on a hard surface. Carpets and other surfaces make for inaccurate readings.

8. Certain days of the month.....you feel me?

9. When the thought of weighing yourself throws you into a crazy state of anxiety. Stepping on a scale can be so emotionally draining depending on the expectations that you've set for yourself and this magical number you have ingrained in your mind of what "the perfect weight" is. If you can't master your fear of the scale, you may want to consider another method of measuring "success", like using clothing, measuring inches, or taking photos. Fitness testing and body composition testing can also be great ways to measure progress.

10. When you're HAPPY with how you look and feel. WHO needs a scale to measure that? It will likely only make you anxious, or make you cry or at least there's a 50/50 chance.
